Another character from Muramasa for Wii

A Mithra from Final Fantasy XI

A Hume dressed up as a Moogle from Final Fantasy XI

It feels really good to get back at making Wallpapers again. I really enjoy doing it!

Time to get some Work done at work. Later!

Mood: Better!
Drinking: ENERGY 10 Cal Vitamin Water. So good!
Thanking: My friend Jenna. She just brought me the prettiest Asian style make-up case and shapes & animal rice mold. That was so nice of her.
Thinking: I'm done w/ today's customers. Lol!

Operation: Major Frog is complete and hasn't been as successful as I would have liked it to have been. The One Skein Wonder doesn't look good at all. That is so discouraging because it has been knit and reknit three times. I was going to wear it today even. When I put it on, looked in the mirror and my spirits just fell. When do you decide you've been stubborn enough and it's time to just bag it? (You have to be stubborn to knit and reknit something three times.)

Since that didn't work out, I thought I would wear the Yoke Pleat Top that was done blocking. I put it on, and my spirits sank even lower. Dispite my best blocking efforts, it didn't turn out either. It wasn't long enough and for some reason it flared out on the sides. Granted, I knew it wouldn't be perfect since I had to rewrite the pattern. But STILL. I was hoping/expecting better results.

Yesterday, I started working on the Pi Vest and I realized, I have no desire for a bright pink vest. None. So now I am 1 for 5 for Operation: Major Frog (with the Pokemon hat being the only project that turned out well).

At least I have my lace blanket. I am very satisfied with how that is going and I now I will love it when it's done. :D

I think I am going to work on some PSP wallpapers. *waves*

Mood: Good
Listening: Bon Iver - For Emma Forever Ago. It's beautiful. For some reason it feels fitting for today.

Operation: Major Frog has so far been successful. All the projects have been unraveled and two have been reknit. First is Dawn's Pokemon hat:

The logo is a little bit bigger than it should be, but I had redone the hat three times so I just called it good.

The One Skein Wonder had been reknit into a 1 1/2 Skein Wonder (by using the yarn from the neckwarmer). No pictures yet, as I still need to weave in the ends. I'm doing that tonight so I can hopefully wear it tomorrow. The gray hat isn't going to reknit- I'll find a new use for it some other time. Not quite sure what I'm going to do with the vest. I want to reknit it, but I don't know if I'll have enough yarn to knit it up properly. Once I check out the stash and see what I have, I'll decide.

*Yawn* Time to get cuddled on the couch with my yarn. Nite!

Mood: Tired. Not super looking forward to Monday/tomorrow. No particular reason. Just kinda "meh" about it right now. But that's kinda how Sunday nights go right?
Listening: Nine Inch Nails - Ghosts (It's the four disc all instrumental album. soooo good!
Wearing: My most favorite zipup from American Apparel. It's the coziest thing ever!!

#136 // 06.12.09

I had such a great day yesterday! Pretty much the nerdiest day ever. It started out with me having a great conversation with my Dad about military operations and how they are named (this leads into Operation: Major Frog which I'll explain later). Then I finished knitting the Yoke Pleat Top I've been working on, listened to a Astonomy/science podcast about Guantum Mechanics (my brain kinda melted afterwards Lol!), watched baseball durring dinner, played Final Fantasy XI, then watched "The Man With The Golden Gun" (James Bond). What a great day, huh?!

So the "Operation: Major Frog" I talked about is when I take old knitting projects that I've finished and don't ever wear/use and revamp them into something new and better. I did this a few years ago, and was very successful. (Scroll down to entry #013. Forgive the lack of pictures, they were lost. )

This years operation will involve five projects:

The Pi vest from Knit.1 magazine, Dawn's Pokemon beanie, Star Crossed slouch hat, One-Skein Wonder, and neckwarmer

The Pi vest is ginormous! That's because I didn't guage anything right. I really like the design, so this is going to unraveled then reknit up on smaller needles.

I ran out of yarn for the Pokemon beanie because I wanted the bottom to fold up. It won't take me long at all to unravel and reknit shorter. Very excited for this project.

The Star Crossed slouch is just going to be wound up into a ball. The fit is horrible, it doesn't slouch at all, and is too stiff.

Since the One Skein Wonder and neckwarmer are both made out of Noro, I'm going to unravel them both and make a bigger Wonder. I'm going to make the front ribbing longer so my underarm isn't showing. (It's pretty embarrassing )

This Operation will probably take a while, as I'd like to make some more items for my Etsy Shop. But that's fine. As long as things get done and I don't have unwanted projects lying around.

That's all for me today. Time to start unraveling stuff.

Mood: Good but super annoyed at telemarketers
Listening: Grizzly Bear
Watching: Wishing I was watching something good. Like one of the Star Trek Blu-Ray movies we got.

!!! I didn't realize how long it has been since I last posted. Oops!

Exciting news today! I have added my own patterns to the site! Please check them out on the Patterns page. The Kaede Neckwarmer, Nunnally Blanket, Thisbe's Baby Bibs, and a *NEW*NEW* pattern, First Aid Wristband.

Here's a picture of the Wristband:

My wrist was a little sore the other day (probably from non-stop knitting ) so I thought I would make it better by knitting a bandage for it. The white w/red cross turned out looking really cool!

That's all for now! Time for work!!

Mood: Kinda cold- I have the A.C. going so it can keep up later this afternoon when it's like a bazillion degrees.
Listening: Ai Otsuka - Love Letter
Drinking: Nothing. Dreaming of lots of lovely drinks tho.
Eating: Nothing atm. Had a great breakfast of Honey Smacks and Toast w/butter & raspberry jam. *that's the best!!*
Knitting: This shirt from Debbie Bliss's latest magazine that 90% of the people who have knitted it have hated it. I guess the sizes run VERY LARGE. So I re-wrote the pattern to make size XXS and I'm still a little concerned. Like one of the other ladies said: "I don't want to look like a cow ;_;" Oh well. I'll just reknit it until I get it to fit. Yeah, I've decided to be that stubborn. Haha!

My baby package for Baby TVLE is complete! Today I finished three baby bibs:

100% cotton bibs

In addition to these things, he'll get the Baby Evo hat, and Nunnally blanket I blogged about last time. That's a pretty solid set of baby items I think. My aunt (Baby's grandma) is coming into town soon, so I'll be able to give the package to her. Yay!

Time to fold some laundry, then do my EA Sports Active work out. /psych! Nite-nite!

Mood: Great, feel productive and slightly head ache-y.
Listening: Nothing
Watching: Aaron do his EA Sports Active work out. Looks like the trainer is going to make us work on a TON of lunges and squats, as well as bicep curls... I think I'll be ready for bed when I'm done.

K! Aaron got all the Sasquatch pictures off the camera and resized so I will share them with you.

Here we are psyched to get going

All situated in and already crafting.

Partial view from the front of our campsite

From the back

From the other side

I have no idea just how many people camped out there, but I guess there were over 60,000 people there over the course of the weekend and NO ONE was turned away for camping. Yeah, it was nuts. Lol!

Us playing with a military flashlight my Dad gave us that can change colors. What fun!!

Us waiting for TV On The Radio to start

TV On The Radio was awesome! See those little hearts by the left of the symbol of the drums set? Trent Rezor is standing backstage there. <3

Great shot of Nine Inch Nails

Love the colors! (not taken by us)

There were 22 other bands we saw but didn't take pictures of. (We figured people with better cameras would take pictures and put them up on the interwebs for us to enjoy. xD)

Overall, it was a great weekend. Hardly got any sleep, but that's fine. It was SO worth it. No complaints at all with the entire trip.

The crafting that got done was a bit of crocheting. I made these super cute heart headbands (which I put on my Etsy shop).

Cute! Cute & easy projects make me happy!

My cousin had a baby last month. This first baby of my generation of cousins. His name is Thomas Vance Lee Earle. Isn't that a great name? I think so. My mom (who thought my baby package to Thisbe was great) asked me to make Baby TVLE a package of stuff as well. I've already pumped out a baby blanket:

I also made him a cocoon kinda like this... I haven't taken pictures of it yet. It's a deep blue made with super soft Homespun yarn.

And I made him a baby version of my favorite hat in the world: Evo

I still need to make some baby bibs. Now that I think about it, I just might do that tonight.

OMGoodess! It's 7 minutes before I close the store! o.O' Wow! Lol- gtg! Later!

Mood: HUNGRY! (When am I not though... lol!)
Listening: Shoko Nakagawa
Watching: The demo for the ridiculous game "House of the Dead 3"

#132 // 05.25.09

Got back from Sasquatch not too long ago. So insanely tired! We ended up seeing all or part of 24 different bands! Of those 24, here are my favorite shows were: #1 Nine Inch Nails (He played my all time favorite NIN song, La Mer, which he hasn't played live very often in the past 10 years!!), #2 The Decemberists (They played their entire new album, The Hazards of Love. Perfect show!), #3 Fleet Foxes (There were a few songs I ended up liking the live version better than the one on album- they're THAT good!), #4 a tie between Deerhoof and Grizzly Bear (Deerhoof had such a fun performance. It was a joy to listen and dance to it. Grizzly Bear was just stellar. Those boys are so talented- all four band members can sing, and know how to layer/harmonize their voices to create a blissful, creamy sound), #5 TV On The Radio (the show was so upbeat and the band rocked all our socks off), #6 Animal Collective (the LOUDEST performance of the weekend. An all over super fun show), #7 Doves (I've heard one of their songs before but never really listened to their music until this last week, and it's so good! These guys were captivating even with the songs I didn't know), #8 Crystal Castles (This show was in the Dance Tent as opposed to a stage. It was one big dance party. The girl singer doesn't sing live, she just screams, but the music is great so it's not a big deal), #9 Bon Iver (Never heard of him before we saw him while waiting for Crystal Castles to start, but WOW is that guy talented! I'm having Aaron make me a copy of his CD because apparently we have it and I didn't know!), #10 The Walkmen (These guys are kinda like Bob Dylan and late 60's psychadelic rock. That's not a great description, but it's hard to put a label on these guys. A definate must for checking out if you haven't heard of them and like 60's/70's rock), #11 Street Sweeper Social Club (This is Tom Morello's new band. Pretty cool and rockin').

OMGoodness! I'm too tired to type anymore. And my nose is peeling from a sunburn. I'm off to aloe it up and relax! Night all!!!!

Mood: Happily exhausted from a great weekend
Listening: The new Grizzly Bear alubm. If you asked me what ONE album I would reccomment from all the bands I saw at Sasquatch, I would say new the new Grizzly Bear album "Veckatimest".
Eating: A ginormous bowl of Cocoa Puffs Aaron made me.
Drinking: Milk and water. Not my normal combination (in fact I hate the combination) but the milk was from cereal, and I'm try to rehydrate myself from the weekend.
Wishing: My nose stops peeling so I can look normal tomorrow.
Remembering: I think I saw Meriqueen (Trent Reznor's fiance) w/ Trent on the back of the stage while TV On The Radio was playing. How cool is that?!
Doing: Really- I'm off now. *^_^*

To make up for the lack of posts, I have a HUGE picture post for you.

First off, is our patio. There's this very sad looking bush outside our front door that looks like it's been dying for a few years now.

The sad bush on the right and the icky dirt patch between out sidewalk and patio.

Close up of the poor bush.

Using a little garden shovel, I moved all the dirt from around the bush, then we used my Dad's shears to cut the roots off. In place of the bush, I planted three lily plants.

The three lilies.

The flowers in our flower box are starting to bloom beautifully!

My sister took me to this garden place called Mac's and we got EXCELLENT deals on veggie plants! I ended up buying more plants than I have room for- oops!

Along the left wall is two strawberry plants, in the bottom right corner is an eggplant, and all the rest are green onions. I know my box is small, but it'll work very nicely for this summer.

On the fiber front, my Grammy gave me a bag full of loot! (Some of it is pretty old too):

A bunch of acrylic yarn. Dontcha just love the colors?! xD

The past few days have been spent unraveling a blanket I got at a garage sale a few years ago. This -

turned into this:

I'm pretty excited to knit this baby up. It'll be knitted into the cabled blanket from the newest Knit.1 magazine (scroll down to the bottom of the link to see it).

That's all for now. I'm working on a secret project for my sister. :x Shhh, don't tell her. Lol!

Laters!

Mood: SUPER full. Ate almost a full can of soup all by myself. :X
Listening: Nothing- boo!
Watching: James Bond - Goldeneye for the N64 (we're demo-ing it at the store).
Drinking: Glorious, glorious Vitamin Water. I can't get enough of the "SYNC" flavor. MMM!
Wishing: I wasn't so full!

#130 // 05.04.09

Happy Monday everyone! While it doesn't really feel like Monday, which is going to throw me off all day, I think it's going to be a good day. I brought my knitting to work (like always xD) along with my book Eragon, and I'm hoping to pump out another Cape for my Etsy shop. This one is going to be a light pink cotton cape. It's super cute. I finished one yesterday which I have lovingly dubbed the "Super Zebra" cape. Super Zebra enjoys carrots and Ranch dressing, balloons shaped like weener dogs, and reading books about the zoo. Haven't quite picked out a story for this pink cape (or if it will even have one).

Melanie from Knitting Daisies has got me all inspired to knit a shawl. That might end up being my next project. I have the prettiest purple tweed-ish yarn that would make the perfect shawl. Can't wait to get started on that!

Aaron just called me and told me that Trent Reznor (of Nine Inch Nails fame) is ENGAGED! <3 <3 How exciting for him! He announced it at the Star Trek premeire a few nights ago. What a dork! The lucky gal is Mariqueen Maandig from West Indian Girl I checked out a few of their videos and the band seems pretty cool. And Mariqueen is gorgeous! Could this be one of the reasons Trent is retiring NIN? Regardless, it's all very exciting.

Time to get back to work. And by work I mean getting my book out and read and knit.

Mood: Pretty very happy except for these chapped lips that I can't seem to get rid of.
Listening: Grizzly Bear again xD
Wishing: Everyone a Happy Star Wars day! May the 4th be with you. (Get it?! May the force be with you?)
