Oh man, the holidays! 2 scarves, 2 cowls, 4 hats, 2 mug cozies, and 1 super hero cape have been pumped out. There is actually more to knit and I'm afraid it won't get done in time! I think there are 5 or 6 more projects to go and I'm going to do my best to get them all done in time. *fingers are soooo crossed!*

Here are some pics of a few recently finished projects:

A super early Christmas gift for Aaron that I just recently got pictures of:

Isn't he just super cute?!

Lol, I just looked at the clock at it's 12:46am. Time to get some sleep! Tomorrow is my day off and I plan on knitting ALL DAY LONG. Will be super fun!

Mood: Slightly irritated that I can't get rid of the "munchies" ... I'm so done eating for tonight!!
Listening: Animal Collective on Pitchfork.com
Reading: Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters.

Thinking: Why do my feet get so cold when I'm sitting at the computer? Must go curl up in a blanket!

After a busy Day After Thanksgiving at work, I decided to relax and make some PSP wallpapers. I was listening to Vocaloids so it was my inspiration:

Now off for more knitting!

It's sad, but I have kinda been avoiding this place... I'm bummed that my header takes so long to show up when I load my site up. My coding skills are pretty much nonexistant (I am still amazed this site loads at all- lol), but I really wish I knew how to made my banner load first. *shrug*

Also, there has been a lot going on. Here are some pictures to illustrate:

Quite a few girls in the Japanese fashion magazines I get were wearing these and I had to have one.

A girl friend of mine wanted one as well.

JenJen couldn't be left out.

November 17th was me and Aaron's 8 year anniversary so we went to Seattle:

We are so happy!

PUMPED we're in Seattle.

The view from our hotel.

It snowed while we drove through the Pass. It is so pretty up there.

A secret "Super-duper-TEA-extravaganza" care package in the works for my sister and her boyfriend. When I'm doing with that I'll take pictures. Speaking of my sister and I have done a ton of knitting for her since it's getting cold where she is already. Of course I forgot to take pictures of everything I sent her. Oh well. She's a good photographer so I'm sure I'll get better pictures of them from her. ^^

When I got home from work tonight, a nice little package was waiting for me- from ROME! It was from Elisa who my secret partner in a Japanese "kawaii" swap. Here are the awesome things she sent me:

All the contents with a super sweet letter included.

This is so cool! It is a neckwarmer that converts into a hat! Yes so cool!

These two little kitties are filled with dried lavender to put in my drawers so my clothes smell good. Mmm!

Little crocheted cherries on a hair clip.

The softed red yarn I have ever held. I can't wait to knit something with this!

Today I went to the dentist and now I'm sore. All I want to do now is just sit and knit. I have three special orders I need to get done ASAP. So that is what I'll do now. Later everyone! I promise I won't wait a month before I post again!!!!!

Mood: Pretty darn good
Listening: GIRL NEXT DOOR - Winter Games
Drinking: Water from the most awesome Starbucks cup.
Watching: I can't decide if I want to go watch Netflix or something I own....

A guy came in to the store today wanting to sell us an add for the school newspaper and one of the headlines of the latest issue was that they had a KNITTING CLUB! How cool! I told him that was super exciting and he said that the club has a pretty big turn out. How surprising! I had no idea that high school kids knitted and let alone had a school club. It made me so happy.

Tonight, time willing, I will be posting three new knitting patterns. All three are for wristwarmers/fingerless gloves. Before I do that, though, I have to finish a special order (a wristband with initials- I love easy orders) and take pictures of the fingerless gloves.

Lately, I have been madly in love with purple cotton yarn, and made two projects with it. First is the Gabriel's Wings triangle scarf:

Since it's made of cotton, it's a little heavy and thick but that's perfect for this cool/cold weather we're having.

The second project is the Noble Cowl:

It is made to be super loose so you can pin it tight. I don't have any pins, so I used a 5 inch gold safety pic to close it. :D

OMGsh it's almost time to get off work! Today has just flown by! Later!

Mood: Anxious to get working on the special order
Drinking: Yummy Starbucks
Eating: Nothing must hurry home and eat something!
Listening: I seriously can NOT stop listening to the Vocaloid music Aaron found. Sometime I'll have to link a bunch of songs from it. A m a z i n g. Here's "Blue/Green" by Miku (it's the one I'm listening to now. There's isn't an actual video of it, but the song is beautiful!)

Quite a bit of time at work lately has been spent on making PSP wallpapers. I found a TON of super cute pictures I'd like to make into wallpapers, but I'm not quite sure just what to do to them. Here are 5 new ones... Not sure if I'm 100% happy with them or not. But I figured I might as well post them- so here they are:

Yui, Tsumugi, Mio, and Ristu from K-ON!

Aisaka Taiga from ToraDora!

Taiga and Ryuji from ToraDora!

Taiga and Ryuji

Taiga and Ryuji

When I first saw the last picture, it gave me butterflies and I HAD to make a paper out of it. The anime was hands down the best anime I've watched in a very very long time. Very long time. *swoon and sniffles*

Mood: Hungry and missing my Love.
Listening: Luka from Vocaloid

So a few days ago I had a fight with the 3 billion plastic bags I found in the cupboard and the floor... I lost (I won't mention the bruised finger from the floor that ended the fight cuz it hurt and looks icky). Anyways, I decided that no longer will said plastic bags be stored in the cupboard until there are so many I can't get to my pizza/cookie pans... or bread pans... or cutting boards... or seran wrap... or tin foil... or garbage bags! NO! From that second I knew they must be stored in a cabled bag holder. Tonight I started such a device. It is yellow instead of the imagined blue, but that's what I have in my stash so the bags will just have to live with it. (And besides- yellow really is a great color). A pattern will follow when I am done with it. so far I am only 4-5-ish inches along and it's looking very nice. It is knit with two strands of worsted weight yarn together (to keep those mean/nasty bags in place!).

Okay kiddie-o's! Time for me to stop rambling and head to bed. All my thoughts are swirling around the most amazing campaign battle I had in Final Fantasy XI and it is making thinking about knitting kinda hard. lol!

Mood: Kinda, a little, boozled.
Drinking: Long Hammer MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
Listening: Final Fantasy XI (Aaron is still on the game)
Wearing: My new cowl I made. It's A Noble Cowl. For some reason my ISP was acting funny and I couldn't post about it earlier. And I would have posted about it in this post, but I forgot. xD Tomorrow...

Arggg! Last night I hurt my finger and now it's all swollen and bruised. My sister's boyfriend (who is a soccer player and, I guess, has had this happen to him a lot) says I need to keep my finger moving. So I figured I might as well blog a bit.

So I am doing this "Kawaii/Zakka" Japanese themed swap with a group of gals and I have been working away at my projects for it. I won't go into detail about them until after they have been recieved, but I will say that I had a breakthrough last night.

For as long as I have been crocheting (about 7-ish years), I haven't been really good at it. For some reason, the technique evades me... I constantly (aka almost always) loose my place if I look away, can't really tell where I am or what I am doing anyways, my stitches look wrong/off... It is basically not a fun or positive experience. Sometimes though, the crochet gods look down and smile on me - like when I did those neckwarmers (see post #149) and a few other times.

Anyways, two nights I found this one pattern that I really wanted to make for the swap, I knew it wasn't going to be easy, but I wanted to do it regardless. After a few failed attempts I knew I needed to change my strategy and approach this from a different angle. When I have problems with something, I generally try to break everything down into small steps. So I dumped out all my safety pins and broke the pattern into sections, seperated by the pins. And what do you know?! It worked!! I had the first part of the pattern done in no time, with very few problems.

The second part of the pattern also gave me problems. Sadly these couldn't be solved with safety pins, so I just took my time, going two stitches at a time. And by just taking it super slow I was able to complete the entire project! I feel like I have grown as a crocheter. Thank you crochet gods! xD LoL!

All this crochet talk makes me want to get crafty. Off I go then! *waves*

Mood: Slighty chilly
Listening: Vocaloids

#152 // 09.18.09

We've been listening to a lot of Vocaloid music lately- which has inspired me to make some new PSP Wallpapers.

All the wallpapers feature Luka, Miku, and Rin (who are all each the characters for the Vocaloid voices).

That's all for today! :D

Mood: Cold
Listening: Julian Casablanca's new solo single

Some friends who went to PAX last weekend, brought me back a copy of the Hello Kitty Online Beta and I am /psyched! A bunch of us got together last weekend to have a big farewell LAN party for a friend who is moving and I spent a bunch of the night playing HKO. I totally forgot to bring my motion sickness wristbands (or Dramamine even o.O') so I couldn't play any of the first person shooter games - they make me motion sick. But I got my HKO character up to lvl 4 that night so it's all good. :D

Since then I have had a chance to play a little bit more and now my character is lvl7. From some of the HKO blogs I have read, you can get a farm eventually. That sounds like a lot of fun. So far all the quests in the game have been fetch quests, meaning there has been quite a lot of grinding, but it isn't horrible to grind so I don't mind.

Work has been kinda boring today. I didn't bring a lot to knit and what I changed my mind about what I wanted to make so I don't have the right crochet hook or enough yarn to do it. Man, what a rough life- lol! Since school has started, work is pretty slow during the day.

Ugh, this guy has been in the store playing one of the demos for 46 mintues now. He doesn't bug anyone, which is fine, but he is constantly turning up the volume on the TV after I keep telling him not to. Time to get back to work. Laters!

Mood: Hoping I'm not coming down with something o.O'
Listening: Wishing I had some of the Vocaloid stuff on the work computer. Got to remember to bring that from home.
Drinking: Coffee and water

Knitting has been so much fun lately! I have finished quite a few projects:

My sister and her boyfriend bought the COOLEST orange couch set from the Good Will for $125 last week. The accent pillows were ugly, so I told her I'd make her pretty contrasting ones. They turned out so nice!

A new baby blanket for New 2 U Kids. It looks like hay stacks- totally cute.

I just LOVE these slippers! They are so comfy and super cute. The little owl is made from cables with button eyes. <3 Love it!

This pair is for my sister who is going off to college. I have a few other projects in mind that I hope to ginish before she leaves. These ones are in her school colors.

I joined another swap group- the theme for this swap is Kawaii and Zakka (cute home & personal accessories). Haven't started any projects for it yet, but I'll get on that once I finish all the projects for my sister. *so excited for so many knitting projects!!*

Time to get back to work. I think it'll be lunch time soon! xD

Mood: Great and getting hungry.
Watching: The US Open
Listening: Owl City
